After learning about the frith analysis I
know have an idea what the purpose of advertisements really are. Every
little detail in a commercial counts. Here are my description's towards
my ad using the frith analysis guidance.
Surface Meaning:
the advertisement that I have chosen consists of three gamer’s/nerds
and four very attractive females. One of the guys has an aerobics cube,
other guy has an Xbox controller and the last guy has a bag of chips.
Advertiser’s meaning: The
advertiser is trying to point out that the chips are so amazingly good
that they bring more to the table. Watching this ad gives you more of an
appetite and preferably for males.
Cultural or Ideological Meaning: this
ad shows that desperate men would do anything to have a woman. This ad
displays that women can are very dominant because of their appearance.
This advertisement illustrates that if you purchase these Doritos it
will make you a lot happier. The ad is humorous to and if people think
that something is funny, they will remember it. Remembering this ad,
people will say have you seen the Dorito commercial? And just thinking
of the commercial some people might actually be in the mood for the
chips or if people come across them at the grocery store.
